Letting go is tough. It’s quite possibly one of the hardest things anyone can do, perhaps, because we fear that if we let go then the same thing won’t happen again twice in your lifetime.
Letting go hurts, I’m not going to lie. Do you know why it hurts so much? it’s because you’re forced to make a choice. You’re in a situation where you have to throw away something that has become a part of you. A piece that will not be present in your future, and no longer apart of you. The only thing that you will be able to carry with you are the memories of that moment that meant more to you than anything. It was your pure happiness and your everything. But now.. now you’re forced to imagine your life without it.
You’re forced to make this choice because you’re hurting. This pain has brought you nothing but heartache and despair. This pain hurts a whole lot more than what it will after making the choice to let go. This pain is temporary and the only way that you can truly make it go, is if you choose to feel the pain of letting go. If you choose to heal yourself from this pain that you are feeling right now, you must also choose to put yourself through a little bit more pain in order to let go.
In letting go, you are enabling yourself to move on to much better things. Letting go and moving on doesn’t mean forgetting by any means, it simply means that you are choosing happiness over hurt, and my god, you deserve to be as happy as happy can be, with someone who appreciates you, and when you are standing at the altar, reciting your vows, you will thank God that it never worked out with anyone else.
